  • IP-rated weatherproof outlet — with a cover that seals even with a plug in it, not just when closed.

  • RCD protection — required, and it's the thing that saves you when a mower cuts its own cord.

  • Sensible height and position — above splash zones, clear of sprinklers, close to where the load actually plugs in.

  • Coastal-grade hardware near the water — standard fittings corrode fast in the bays; marine-grade costs a little more once.

Is an outdoor point safe in Auckland rain?
